Mother and Baby Supported Independent Living

Integrated Care can provide a range of accommodation and services for mothers with their Babies who are attempting to live independently in the Community. Outreach Support can be negotiated and tailored to meet the needs of the Care Authority, and the Mother and her Child. Support will focus upon Self-Care skills, Emotional Well-Being, Education and training, and Housing Management.

Where there are concerns about a parent’s abilities, we have Outreach Workers who can provide a comprehensive assessment of the mother’s parenting abilities in her new home – a setting that is often more comfortable and natural for the parent than a residential unit. In some cases such a supported independence placement can be more revealing. This service is provided in collaboration with the Beacon Lodge Trust who have over one hundred years of specialised experience of working with Mothers and Babies. Where there are serious child protection concerns, monitoring is closely supervised by a qualified and experienced Beacon Lodge member of staff. Specialist support and respite care are available from the Beacon Lodge Trust and assessments are based firmly upon the National Framework for Assessment. This service includes complete Assessment and Court Reports. All mothers have access to the Integrated Care 24-Hour Outreach help line.
